Drayton is a small community just east of the Town of Minto (Palmerston, ON), with a population that is growing. Drayton is well known for the Drayton Festival Theatre which operates year round with people coming from miles afar to enjoy the plays performed in this Historical Building that has been restored and refurbished by a group of dedicated volunteers.
Another drawing feature of this small Town of Drayton is the Conestoga Dam, a recreational area just outside of the Town limits that has many cottages along the water front with many of the owners enjoying days of boating, swimming and fishing to no end for those lazy days of summer. Cottagers can stay from February until November.
Within the last 10 years, Drayton has become the boom town in our surrounding area; one of the main reasons for this increase is because of its easy and close access to the KW and Guelph area. New home building has been especially strong there with prices holding and ever increasing in their value for decent sized homes (approx. 1400 sq.ft. and up) most on oversized lots compared to what a home owner would have in the cities mentioned previously.
Drayton has all of the necessary amenities that one would need, with the hospital being approximately 15 minutes away (west of Drayton to Palmerston), a very large community centre filled with sport activities for kids of all ages, including outdoor sport activities in the summer months as well.
